got some live shrimp paddled into the laguna

anchored up and after the third fish i was washing off my hand and that jellyfish in the pic ran into my hand Embarassed watch out there are lots of them out there...hurt had to put pee on it Embarassed

landed over 10 trout, and tons of hardheads fishing 6inch menhaden, (both cut and whole) and fishbites, and live shrimp

hooked a fish thought it was another hard hear till it head shook all over the place took a couple minutes to coax it in the net..

Went 21inches
first pic the tape is off

the water color still wasn't great though you can see what is on the bottom a little better now.. threw a holographic/glow DOA shrimp for a while without getting bit

20 Kayak Wars points Smile

it ate a shrimp fishbite and a whole 6inch menhaden(menhaden are one of my favorite baits)

took two 15inch trout and the 21incher for dinner, gonna cook up the red from yesterday too

was gonna head home when my fishbites rod bends over and peels drag..i took my time with this fish (the hook set didn't feel too good) after almost 20 minutes on 12lb mono the fish cruises by the yak..i pull a little more to get it away from my anchor line and my hook pulls and hits me in the face Confused got to see it as it went by it was a big red maybe over 30inches.. least i got a good long fight
till next time Cool

Nice trout. Did they change the rules for trout? Used to be they had to be over 20 inches. Very Happy

if i can get through the surf im gonna be on the rigs out there...

kinda funny 4 boats passed me pretty close, one of them at 30 yards as he was goin by i hooked that big trout lol kinda made him mad i think

would have released the big trout if i could have gotten my hook back.. they seem to be feeding deep..all the ones i kept were hooked in the belly...

and on a side note i picked a spot, anchored, chummed frozen menhaden and shrimp, and didn't move had bites the whole time with small breaks when the Power Boats went by..

I'm just not sure about you Yakers, it just takes too long to get to the rigs by paddle. Laughing

Guess I should slow down and enjoy life but dang, when I'm done fishing I just want to get home.

Seeya on the water, I'll give ya a wide birth... Wink
