took the kiddo to school and then headed to bob hall with a buddy

found a little bait in the gut on sabiki and fishbites

the pier got torn up by a waterspout yesterday

had a slide in the gut for a while, had to fight(verbally) with some surfers so i could get my slide out (some advice DO NOT sit on your surf board and refuse to move as i tell you i am throwing my 10once spider weight)..ended up not being worth it so we headed to packery, people from the county tried to talk to the surfers with no effect

pretty sure the bottom bait is a grey snapper..correct me if wrong, caught some small fish while we were there..
had a buddy get a sand trout on a float eating by a nice little shark(5-6foot)

don't know how i do this every time i take pics of crazy surf and it looks calm...it wasnt..

there was bait at packery, the surf was fairly rough saw some boats turn around as they approached the end of the jetties and head back to the bay
the guy in the pic near the end on the jetty walked away with a limit of reds on shrimp

we landed two reds kept the one in the pic, couple of lady fish and a small sheepshead(around 16inches)

my buddy got this red on cut ladyfish..
i hooked a nice fish on my little Calcutta 50 didnt see it but got a nice fight till the hook pulled

maybe depends on the weather i guess..
may do the yak thing this weekend if the surf is calm

Thanks for the report. Looks pretty stirred up out there. How was the weed ? I'll be there Thursday/Friday/Saturday this week. Thanks for any beach/fishing reports between now and then.

Pretty sure I saw you guys from the south jetties... I fished the very end at sun up and landed 2 small reds and lost 2 real nice ones. I went back in the afternoon and realized I forgot my camera. The water was crazy and the blue/green was moving into the end of the jetties with absolutely no weed at all in some spots. Through some long casts out into the clear blue with only a hardhead landed. I kept seeing schools of fish and some were jumping out of the air occassionally. I hooked into one and it got some nice air before spitting the hook. Hooked another and it spit as well. Not sure what kind of fish but it would attack the bait furiously with hard taps and then run... looked like bonita or similiar...

Ready and waiting on anyone that wants to yak the rigs...

went back to packery this evening got a few more pics only landed hardheads and ladyfish, and bait

i think this is a grunt...

water was nice unfortunately the fish didn't cooperate. my buddy had a few small live sand trout eaten. the only big fish i hooked was on fishbites and a sabiki....straitened the hook Sad

Thanks for the report He who shall not be mentioned cool pics like always. I'll be hitting Salt water in the first week of May hopefully the weather will stay nice. Glad to see the bait is showing up.
