We got out this morning to the beach to do some surf fishing around 6a.m. with Benjamin and Hunter (my friend Neil's son). Set up the rods and baited up in anticipation of some big redfish. This resulted in the catching of multiple "hardheads" (saltwater catfish). UGHHH! After relentless catching of the hardheads a nice redfish hit Benjamin's rod. The fish measured a solid 26"! Action slowed down after that and the kids wanted to go play in the sand dunes. Neil and I went against our wives instructions which were "don't let them out of your sight", and let them be boys. This resulted in a dead lizard that was hit with a sandal which was promptly used for bait. This produced negative results in the fish department and the boys promptly returned to the sand dunes for non-aquatic bait. The boys were gone for an unusally long time which concerned myself and neil as we had drank approximately 6 beers and "no boys". Just as we were discussing whether to look for them, they appeared approximately 100 yds from where they went in to the dunes. This time they did not come back with a lizzard, but with a $100.00 bill (real U.S. Currency) that was found in the sand! And to answer your question...Hell yes we sent them back to dig in that spot while we drank more beer! So...one redfish and a hundred bucks...Not a bad day!
