I think there is a BAN on any oyster harvesting right now due to red tide but I do know there is a few places in Port A and Rockport that usually sell em, I dont know there names but I'm sure you can google them....

Thanks I did google it and found three places. Two downtown CC and one in Fulton. One of the places downtown said they sold out yesterday the place in Fulton has them and the other place i called said because of red tide they have none... I then googled to see if red tide was an issue. I guess I will wait a couple months.

Oysters and other shellfish such as clams, mussels, whelks and scallops can accumulate red tide toxins in their tissues. People that eat oysters or other shellfish containing red tide toxins may become seriously ill with neurotoxic shellfish poisoning (NSP). Once a red tide appears to be over, toxins can remain in the oysters for weeks to months. For this reason, the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) closely monitors oyster growing areas for the presence of red tide and red tide toxins. TDSHS has the authority to close shellfish harvesting areas during and after a red tide. Oysters you buy from a restaurant or certified shellfish dealer should not have red tide toxins in them because of the TDSHS

Look up The Shrimp Pimp thread in the BBQ Cooking forum. He might be able to hook you up.

Charlie at Morgan St. Seafood is where we get ours but I bet that since Texas Oyster Season has been postoned due to red tide he may not have any either.

I go to Fulton and get mine when they are in season. You can buy them buy the sack off the boat or if you get lazy and want good clean oysters. I then go to Alby's in Fulton They shuck them fresh daily and only shuck what they can sell in a day. So they are fresh. Last year they were 50.00 a gal and they were good.

Not gonna be any Texas oysters for a while and Louisiana's oyster grounds are still messed up from BP. They were counting on us to provide most of the oysters this year, but doesn't look like we're going to have open oyster waters in Texas at all.
