Whatsup everyone. Like all you guys, I've been sitting behind a doggone computer screen checking weather, staring at tides, moon phases, fishing reports, fishing complaints, fishing successes, and even managed to check my email once in a while. And through it all, I've been hoping behind hope that this fall would or could somehow be salvageable from the red tide disaster that has plauged us, and just WON'T go away! ARGH!!!!!! If this continues, I'm going to get my weed eater and attack something in the yard. Well, let's not go to extremes here...
After getting some gear organized, I planned to scout out PINS today to see if my hoped for trip monday to friday on PINS could occur. After watching an episode of Sons of Anarchy, I slept like crap and had dreams all night of shooting people, crashing motorcycles, and getting beat up by the cartel. Not watching that again!!!!!
So after a late start around 8, I planned on hitting yarborough for some yak action, since my new addiction must be fed, casting dead garbage on a hook from the sand is no longer cutting it after such awesome fun as of late in the yak!! I hoped to check out the red tide conditions with a bonus of doing a little sightcasting....while taking a chance in the winds...
The beach wasn't as bad as expected driving-wise, and the aerosols were reported to be coming and going day to day. Today, they weren't existent from the 0 to the Pass.
It was soft! However, the pimp-wagon cannot be stopped, and on I went...
And I ended up hanging out with some deer!
I got to Yarborough, and it was obvious that it was way windier on the bayside of things, as often is this time of year.
I ended up eating lunch and deciding to forgo even taking the yak down. Watche the waves and listened to the wind blow, and listened to "Whipping Post" by The Allman Brothers. Greatest band ever and most amazing song on earth. If you don't know the song, punch yourself, throw yourself on the floor, get over it, and go to best buy and buy the Fillmore Concerts album!!!!!! I wouldn't steer anyone wrong!!!!
And in lieu of such weather lameness, it was time to explore!
And I snuck up on this guy, got within 6 feet, it was amazing!
And I found a boat! Well, it's been there forever, just haven't been out to it since '06.
A certain CJ5 track from way back in the day???
And then I hung out on a dock for a while for free, while deciding what to do with the rest of the day.
Decided to take pics of cactuses!
Then wondered why random barnacles were all over the flats....mixed in with crab claws....
And it was time to go!!
Might be going down Island tomorrow....knowing me.....I'm outta here.....two fronts in a week? Sounds like I might be topping my previous record for pain, suffering, lack of a love life, yada yada yada, hey I still have my Allman Cd.
Life is good!
Later.
