Yes seems to have "settled down", hopefully this cool front and high winds today will push it out a little more, we're due another front late next week which should help too.

| Is that what normally happens Capt? It gets pushed around by current and wind, and dissipates over time or just moves to a separate location? |

From past observations of the red tide over the years, yes it seems to get pushed around by wind (current) and broken-up and dissipate in time, seems to just go away. I'm sure that there is more to it than that, maybe water temps have something to do with the stuff going away, I'm sure in time with more research by biologist will be able to figure it out. From what I have read there are still alot of question unanswered and still alot of speculation.

| Biologists thought cold water temps put an end to the bloom, but they found out with the 2009 bloom that that was not really the case. They found high concentrations in 48 degree water. I think an influx of fresh water is more likely to help than cold temps. |

except now we know that an influx of freshwater will cause salinities to decrease causing the organism to produce higher levels of toxins. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

| I was in POrt A 25-27. Went to the beach and saw about five dead mullet. All the adults caughed, my 2 year old ran till she could no more and felt no side effects! THe water had some gritty Crap on the surface which I believe to be RT. The back side of pack no effects or dead fish. Plenty of bait. You should be fine if it stays the same. When your throat itchs just take a swig of beeR. |
