I have been fishing for years but I just got my first kayak. I don't have any ideas on places to fish. I was wondering if there were any guys or groups that yak fish the CC, Portland, Padre Island, Port A areas that would share some launch spots or even let me tag along?

I can tell by reading the posts that there are a lot of good folks on this forum

Lighthouse lakes aranasas pass is one of the most gorgeous places I have kayak fished. A must for any kayak fisherman in the area. Bring a camera. If the fish aren't biting there is still no shortage of pretty scenery and shore birds.

Actually this true of a lot of the areas available to kayakers in the Coastal Bend area. One of the great things about kayak fishing.

ACK ( Austin Canoe & Kayak) has a great smart phone app that you can use from an iphone or a droid. It links in to Google Maps and uses your GPS to take you the nearest launch sites by default. Really slick and has a huge number of spots in the database. You can also enter your own and make them either private or public. Very Cool!!!!!

here is a link to their web page for the app....http://www.austinkayak.com/mobile_app.php
