| I was at the Mustang surf Saturday and Sunday and the finger mullet were thick and headed south right at the shore line for most of the day. Surf was great 'cept the water was gin clear and the fishies weren't really there. One slot Red. some small Skippies, and a small shark. |

I took my boy to hit Deadman's on Saturday. Action was really slow all morning long (full moon?)...we caught some dink trout in the hole but that was it. There was bait around, only saw/spooked a few single reds, they were not feeding out on the flats like usual. Talked to the wade fishermen on the way back in and they were emptyhanded as well. _________________ ...a bad day fishing still beats yardwork. |

High is sitting right over us. Plus, full moon shuts down the morning bite in my opinion. Best bet is night fishing or noonish during these times. The week leading up to a full moon can be good though.
Pre-front or as pressure drops also tends to trigger an active feeding. Fish have tiny barometers in their heads that signal them to feed. That is my theory anyway. I have no scientific proof of any of this, just observations. _________________ ...a bad day fishing still beats yardwork. |
