|

Carole Allen the lady that wanted to close PINS offshore waters to commercial and recreational fishing sent out a newsletter for the Sea Turtle Restoration Project to write or call Congressman Blake Farenthold to complain for putting an amendment on Sea Turtle Funding.
She says Call Representative Blake Farenthold To Oppose His Amendment No. 24 to H.R. 2584
Remind him that two years of research and public opinion have shown that vehicles on Texas park beaches should not exceed 15 mph during the sea turtle nesting season. Share your opposition to Farenthold's amendment cutting funding for the ongoing process to modify speed limits on sea turtle nesting beaches. His office phone numbers are as follows:
Corpus Christi Office; (361) 884-2222
Brownsville Office; (956) 544-8800 or
Washington D.C.; (202) 225-7742
I say call him and thank him!
H.R. 2584 OFFERED BY: MR. FARENTHOLD, AMENDMENT NO. 24:
At the end of the bill,
before the short title, insert the following:
FUNDING LIMITATION RELATED TO SPEED LIMIT
REDUCTION IN PADRE ISLAND NATIONAL SEASHORE
SEC. ll. None of the funds made available
in this Act may be used to issue a preliminary
rule or a final rule, or to take any other action
to reduce the legal speed limit in Padre
Island National Seashore.

Please call his office and thank him. I just did. You know every Tom, D ick and hairy leg lady from all over the country will be flooding his offices with nasty comments about running over turtles.

I just called his office to thank him since the current EA is so biased as he knows since he received a copy of CAC's response to the Park's EA.
If this passes, next we will have to stop the Park from implementing a seasonal speed limit reduction allegedly to protect nesting turtles. |

Tyler, nothing here indicates the bag limit for sea turtles. _________________

Exactly. A call from a hairy-legged Oregon granola-crunching womyn doesn't have the punch that a call from one of us has. _________________ www.oceanlawusa.com |

Just posted this email to the Congressman: | Quote: | Congressman,
I already phoned your Corpus Christi office to express my appreciation, but thanks again for introducing Amendment No. 24 to H.R. 2584. I've passed copied of the amendment along to the office of TGLO Commissioner Patterson; to the Mayor, City Council and City Manager of Corpus Christi; and to the local Mensans.
I also enjoyed our conversation recently about the Padre Island National Seashore's June 2011 Beach Vehicle Environmental Assessment. Would you be kind enough to ask your staff to email a copy of your comments on it?
You've demonstrated by introducing that amendment that you are a man of action as well as of words. I can't thank you enough for that.

Consider this, if the bill, which approves the Department of the Interior's budget, passes with his amendment, the funding for EVERYTHING that might reduce the speed limit at PINS gets cut. I'd say that definitely includes funding for the purpose of creating PINS arribadas, which would halt PINS beach traffic entirely. If the DOI agencies want to continue the recovery program for Kemp's ridleys on the Texas coast, they'll quickly have to find another beach to do it on. Everyone, please let Congressman know how much you appreciate his brilliant means of protecting our beach access. _________________ The Trash Heap Has Spoken!

Is this Carole lady a federal employee? If so I believe her email and involvement against the bill may be a criminal violation of the Hatch Act (if I remember correctly - the act that prohibits federal employees from becoming involved in politics). You civil servants out there should know more about this than I.
Perhaps a criminal complaint filed against Ms. Carole for violation of the act would create some serious reflection on her part - then again probably would bounce off this turtletards back. But, if valid, it might remove her from the picture totally and give Ms. Donna and Mr. Joe something to be concerned about. When your enemy is willing to try to get you criminally prosecuted and/or fired - gives you something to think about. |
