The bite in the Upper Laguna has been real good over the past 10 days
lots of trout and in todays case a mix of flounder and redfish, I even had a client get a slam. Today I fish with one of my local customers, he owns a business here in Corpus Christi and will send his employees fishing every year. These guys were part of 3 trips, yesterday the guys had their
trout early and today we did the same. I'm still fishing in 3' to 4' of water over the grass and sand. Water conditions are real good with the light winds.
Guess what? we are still using earthworms. Seems the trout population is
very good this season along the Texas Coast. Let's hope we can get a little rain in the next few weeks and we can keep those numbers up. I've been talking with some of the TP&W biologist ove the past few weeks and they say the numbers are very good.

They need to ban the use of earthworms immediately in order to keep the trout population healthy. I'm calling my congressman!!
But seriously, nice report. Happy customers. _________________

Hey David, these are some of Raymond's (EMR) guys. I fished three of them yesterday too.
Really nice of him to send his employees fishing.

I half way guessed that from your report and reading between the lines.

Good to here and I second the notion that this year will go down as a great year. I posted a couple weeks ago about what I am seeing and experiencing and it is all good...and to think it wasn't that long ago the Rockport crowd wanted lower limits. I hear they are boxing them up as well which keeps them out of our waters. I just love it when the Eyore doom and gloomers are wrong..... _________________ Wish I Were in Baffin |

| I'll agree that the trout pops are good. The number of 23-26" fish seems almost abnormal. If we can get 2 more "freeze-free" years..wow! |
