In North Carolina where I'm originaly from we have a citation system for game fish you catch if they are a certain size and over. Does Texas have a program of this nature and if so where can I find the info.

Not sure what you mean.

We have tags for oversized red fish - you get one with your fishing license - allowing you to keep one over 28 inches. On the other hand, you can get a fine (citation?) for keeping fish that are too large.

What do you mean?

I think it's more like getting a certified trophy. State will recognize that you actually caught a big fish.

My bad ,should of elaberated more. In Carolina if you catch a MaiMai over 30#, YFT over 80# ect. the state will reconize your catch as a trophy or excepional catch. You receive a 8 by 10 certificate signed by the govener to frame and display in your trophy room.
