Long rage forecast calling for sunny skies, 10-14 mph wind which is perfect for some lazy seas. Fishing forecast calls for all fish to be caught by IMS. THATS THE FORECAST.....ya'll might as well stay home. Very Happy

Thanks Silver King! Very Happy

Actually, the kit only comes with red, black blue and yellow.................. so my color choices were limited, but the combo that I picked works well together.

One thing that kind of chapped me was that the rod kit was SPECIFICALLY for vertical jigging, as in offshore, and in the book that came with the kit it states that size A thread is only to be used for light to moderate FRESH WATER rods, but that's what they sent!!! Shocked Oh well, lesson learned on the kit thing, I probably wouldn't go that route again, but it was the cheapest and quickest way for me to get into the rod that I wanted.

Pelican is the same boat we went out on two years ago. I hope they serviced the A/C and maybe the cutlass bearings.

Guess what - the AC was out on the Pelican when I went out on it about 10 years ago. Doesn't sound like they ever fixed it.

I really hate that Jeff can't make . So Does the pelican furnish good bait? I'm thinking of bringing my own so that I have good fresh baits. Squid, chubs, ribbonfish.

Stan, two years ago they had squid for all that was in decent condition. They also have a live bait tank but were kind of hands off with it, unless someone else knows differently. As I've mentioned before, the circle hooks that they provided were small and dull. I'm bring all my own gear (sans bait) just in case I do some bait fishing too.

Others probably have much more recent info though..................

Oh yeah, on the rod wrapping thread thingy: The black thread was size D, so I'm good. That means that Mudhole only sent me the wrong stuff on 66% of my thread!!! Cool
