I think the trout eggs are mealy tasting but to some that's good!
I get both sides here. OFTII obviously was tweaking the opinionated conservationists in the group here, those who post "nice meat haul" etc. with the obvious bait on the thread. As I said let's not bash folks for keeping a legal limit of fish. Though personally I would rather see a pile of black drum than trout in a meat haul, because I like the taste of them better than a bay trout. "There's lots of "judging" going on around here I gear this board to fishing and fishing reports, lively discussions but not "pi##ing" contests. |

Ethical? Hardly. Idiotic, definitely. Keep posting pictures like this, and we will have a 5 fish limit in no time. A picture like that on the table at a TPWD commission meeting will speak volumes about what is really wrong along the coast. Its not the limit, the fish population, or the habitat- it's a generation of fishermen with little-no conservation ethic or respect for the resource.
Get some class. I'll show your picture to my kids and tell them this is exactly how not to act in the outdoors. |

Let this thread die out & discuss less controversial topics like killing sharks, obama, whaling, packery, las brisas, jersy shore, etc... _________________ -Mando |

It appears this thread has the power to attract all the local Jr Gamewardens.... what did you guys do, send up a "bat signal" to meet here on this thread?
What exactly is wrong with the photo? Because it illustrates the exact purpose of keeping those fish? Is there something wrong with referring to fish as "meat"? Is there something wrong with keeping what is legally allowed?
What's wrong with the fishing community is people like you who think they can establish ethics for everyone. You want to make out with a fish before you release it, and praise yourself for how awesome
You are for catching a fish in your kayak while "the pros potlick you", that's fine. Don't assume by a photo that you know me or anything about my ethics.
Just out of curiousity, do you also teach your kids to whine about people keeping limits of fish, or post up fake reports and "see how many idiots are fishing there the next day"?

I thought you were ignoring this thread Itorna?
I guess "class" for the basis of your little posse involves calling people
Childish
Idiotic
Unethical
something else bayslammer said that can't be repeated.... right bayslammer?)
fish killer
antichrist of the laguna... (maybe I made that one up)
all for keeping (fewer) fish than the law allows.
You guys scream and whine about "conservation", then when someone makes a counterpoint to your ideology, you whine about being personally attacked. Certainly someone makes a pill that could help you guys. |

Seriously? Most anglers willing to burn some gas and pay $10 a dozen for croaker will have the same results. It's not about keeping the fish, that's not the point. You take sick pleasure in calling out people who do not agree with your disrespect for the fishery, fish and other fishermen.
I haul my fair share of trout in on a regular basis. I'm not worried about the effect that your catch had on the trout fishery. I eat fish and game, and I don't make out with fish and hug trees. Respect for God's creatures and accepting responsibility of authority over them. That was what I was taught before I ever caught of killed anything, and I'm sorry if that offends anyone. _________________ Grind

who gets to decide what is ethical for others, i thought ethics were up to the individual, not someone else to point fingers and say "my way or the highway" again, like Tyler said, quit judging people, you'll go blind.
it's funny, the "ethics police" won't chime in on a few other threads that were posted that have a bunch of fish caught and bagged, but yet, here they are in this one...
this is the reason i don't post any reports here anymore (sorry Tyler), i live in SA but born and raised in CC....i don't get to fish much, especially during hunting season, but the few times i make it down, i want to fill the box because that is what we eat and it is what i paid for in the cost of my lic, gas and gear, when i'm lucky enough to get on the fish.
personally, it's a wash, you see locals posting up everyday with their limits or a good amount of fish, then you have the people that post up when they only make 1-2 times a month if even that with a stellar catch, but yet get labled by the ethics committee when if you look at them both, it's about the same as far as harvest goes, maybe a little more on the local side with more fish being caught.
whatever, just freak'n fish and enjoy it. _________________ Trophy whitetail and exotic hunts on some of the finest ranches Texas has to offer, www.mcoutfitterstexas.com

Like I said, keep railing along with your cooler shots and meat haul pictures. We'll get that 5 fish limit in no time. Pictures like that are worth a 100 public hearings, and speak much clearer than any scientific data |

depends on how you look at it, judging by the pictures, i'd say the trout population is doing fine...

Go back and read the posts by OFTII. Look at his interests in his profile. We are just feeding the fire here.
If you only get to fish once or twice a year, or everyday it's all the same, people want to catch fish and have fun. If the State says 10 trout a person, then I say post up a report and a picture of a meat haul if you want. From what I heard at the scoping meetings, a recomendation would be made on the limit change. What the recomendation was they would not say or didn't know yet?? Ultimately, I'm just happy that our area fishery is doing so well. _________________ Grind |

Bay....the profile doesn't mean anything, it's a online forum, heck, i could list in my interest "stalking part-time guides cuz i like guys" but it don't mean that it's all true, just the guys part.
honestly, i'll put up a short report, but i can't upload pics because TYLER doesn't allow photos to be uploaded as attachements and pic hosting sites are blocked here at work..............and for some reason, i've been losing fish right at the boat for some reason lately....something about a 9 pound trout swimming away at the edge of the boat just makes a grown man cry. _________________ Trophy whitetail and exotic hunts on some of the finest ranches Texas has to offer, www.mcoutfitterstexas.com
