I tell you, I don't know what in the heck is going on around here. Our friend Pat had HER kayak stolen last night. She lives on the south side of Corpus. Anyways, here's the email I got from her significant other along with a description of her kayak. Keep your daughters and your kayaks locked up folks.:

I regret to report that yet another kayak has been stolen from one of our local paddlers.

Pat Donohue had her Wilderness Systems Tsunami 14.0 (Duralite) stolen off the top of her van last night. It has been reported to police & a cash reward has been posted for its return.

Serial Number: WEMPHFF9B606 / Color is Midnight Blue

If seen or found contact Pat @ 361-991-5305 or Charlie West @ 361-510-3710

Thanks
Charlie West

I truly hope whoever is doing this gets what they deserve. If you hear or see something about this kayak or the other two that I posted about yesterday, you can contact me here on the board or at: windknot_flies@att.net

Thanks,
Harris

Yep, I've posted on TKF, Team Oso, etc. The word is out there, so hopefully someone sees something. Thanks for keeping your eyes peeled. I appreciate it.

Padlock:

(Sad commentary, but particularly poignant).

Keep your stuff under wraps.

CS, I was thinking exactly the same: Locks are made to keep honest folks out. Wink

Wouldn't a serious chain through the scupper hole, locking your kayak up be a good idea?? I wouldn't leave anything unlocked on a vehicle in the Corpus or any other vehicle in any coastal city or any Big City for that matter. Its why I live so far out in the country and have BIG DOGS who roam free on my property when I am not home. OOPS, one place in Corpus I would feel at least slightly safe - on base at NAS Corpus.

One day a real rain will wash the street and a Travis, or a Charlie Bronson, or a Clint will stop the process when they choose the wrong house.
I have been here the whole time and still can't believe somone would try to steal in Texas. It's not a good idea.
Hard work would be better to take advantage of.

I agree Damo - stealing things in Texas can get you real dead, real quick.

Very Happy UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!
Thanks to TKFer "surfers77" my good friend Pat recovered her stolen kayak. Jesse spotted this yak on good ole Craigslist and must've remembered seeing my original posting with the "if found please contact..." information.

I just want to give a HUGE PERSONAL THANK YOU  to Jesse (aka surfers77) for his vigilant eye and attention to detail. I owe you one amigo. Hopefully we can wet a line sometime soon.

Score one for the good guys! Very Happy

Many Thanks,

Harris aka Windknot Flies
