Does anyone know where to find floatation in the local area (AP, PA, Ingleside, etc)?
I'm looking for 2' wide X 4' tall X 8' long either encased or not.
Thanks in advance,

Is it styrofoam blocks you're referring to? If so, it's all over the land and the water last time I looked, except it's in tiny little pieces. And it's never, ever going away. Nothing personal toward anyone - it's just not environmentally friendly stuff. And there are alternatives.

I understand what you're saying. My intentions are to get the styrofoam blocks, cover them with 1/4" plywood and then fiberglass them for 2 reasons.
1. They'll last longer
2. Being encased, they will not be harmful to our enviroment.

Sounds reasonable. I like the way you're thinking.

Covering them with Fiberglass might be a better route to go over the long term. Could those blue plastic barrels be used better than styrofoam??

I thought about the plastic barrels but I'm really looking for the styrofoam to be a displacer more than anything.

Texas foam out of San Antone. They make them to whatever size you want and that is where most of the foams come from. I have been seeing some descent pieces on King Ranch.

The flotation devices they use under the floating docks down at the "T" heads
might work. Check with the marina office at the "T" heads. Good luck |
