That is what we thought today. Got down and prowled around to 5 or 6mm and boy was the weed coming in. Tried to put a line out and went back to the N. Sticks with same problem(grass, grass and more grass and we couldn't even smoke it). Ended up on MI at the Fish Pass Jetty area(thanks for the map Sapo) and the grass was minimal. Surf was 2-3'(much higher than forecast), water clarity was not bad but the fish were AWOL. Lots of Winter Texans fishing the area and during the hours in the PM(12-2:30) that we were there during a good incoming tide, saw one oversized red brought in with several small to medium whiting. Pompano must have still been visiting relatives in Florida post Thanksgiving Holidays.

I could have boxed 60 pomps yesterday. It was en fuego.

However I only kept a personal limit of 10 pomps.

As decided by the great members of Breakaway.

I would have written you a ticket for exceeding your personal limit. You were lucky this time.

That is my personal PINS limit...when I have 10 fish in my box...I either go home, or start letting them go. IOW...2 drum, a red, and 7 pomps = done. I've kept more than 10 Pomps ONCE...and won't do it again.

I like the self imposed rule.

I changed my mind later and adopted the Breakaway Limit that was agreed upon. Sept 2008 was a long time ago and I had fish in the freezer...LOL....funny how the scenario changes with a situational environment.

I guess I need to write myself a ticket.

A couple of weeks ago I kept a bunch of big whitting...Ill never do that again! Those little things are a pain to clean if ya ask me. Pomps are easy to slice and are very meaty Cool Trying for some tomorrow! My family could run through 10 pomps easy in a couple dinners. I never catch that many though.
