Well we went to Mustang Island on Oct 22, 2010 in hope of catching some Pomps. I met up with RayRod at "The Bait Bucket" in da bluff. Picked up 2 pounds of dead shrimp since that is all they had. Headed out to beach North of fish Pass Jetties. First stop was maybe 1/4 mile from the jetties. Puro Hard Heads. Decided to move north. Moved about 1/2 mile north. Noticed another fisherman north of us running around keeping busy... Started fishing and caught many whitings on shrimp/fish bites on breakaway DCD3 rigs. Saw a guy I know pull up north next to the other guy and decided to walk up there and say hello. Baited up with cut skipjack and asked RayRod to watch my rod.. Not that one. Well, the guys north of us ended up being some people from the breakaway group. Claus & Tightlines. ( Rockportians)..
Talked a bit then headed back.. Asked RayRod if I got any bites? He said no.. Reeled in and I has a good Pomp.... My only one that day.. Well Claus drove down and then Tightlines drove down and we had baits all over the place. Then the fun began as the tide came in.. Pomps, Smacks & Bull Whitings started being caught.. This is where the video begins.. I have to tell you what the Ice Cream man said when I pointed my camera in his face.... I think he though it was a stick-up... He said, " What the hell is that?" and looked scared... I felt bad and told him Hole and Adios.. He waved to me and drove off into the brown sand....Had a blast making a new friend "Tightlines" and you can't put a price tag on this kind of fellowshipin.... Tyler, We sure wished you and your father could have joined us... Maybe next time...

Thanks Sapo,
Dad and I got a late start and ended up south of Bob Hall Pier with no luck whatsoever on Pomps. With an hour of daylight left I resorted to using finger mullet and got a couple of knockdowns from toothy fish. Snookered, Roadkill Willie, Frenzy and Laura showed up and did get some trout right as the sun went down. Smile
