What a morning. Got out to my launch point before first light as usual. I was not the first or the last to get there to enjoy a wonderfully cool morning...relatively speaking of course...but it sure felt good. Breeze was from the northeast. As I readied my gear, some of the early arrivals paddled off...their way illuminated by the still near full moon still quite high in the sky. Others that arrived after me quickly paddled off when there was enough light from the approaching sun. Me...I had already caught the mullet I wanted, but I waited. I waited for my brother kayakers to get out of sight. They had not heard or seen what I had, or if they had, they ignored the signs of fish feeding nearby in their hurry to get to their chosen fishing spots.
I at last set out and paddled all of forty yards, backed up into some grass and started catching fish. The reds were schooled up and feeding. No big ones mind you, most pushing 20 with some larger ones mixed in. Sat in the one spot and caught about 25 before calling it an early morning and heading home. I hadn't felt like a long paddle today anyway. Hope the other guys all found fish. Very Happy

These three volunteered to come home with me.

Congrats on some nice Redfish. All I see when I look at Redfish is Redfish on the half shell.
