Headed out with a couple of friends of mine this morning and we stopped at bird island to fish for a while. Right off the bat I caught a 22 inch red and that was all. Huge horse mullet swimming everywhere. Later we tried over by king ranch shore line and all we caught was a bunch of undersized trout. Nita had a nice trout on but she lost it at the boat. Then the rain moved in and we braved the first shower but the next one heading our way looked a little fiercer so we head back north. Stopped a few times to fish the intracoastal shore and I picked up a 15 inch trout and that was all the fish we caught. CCBobber had a few undersized specs and a pinperch his his lures. After we got back we helped nita clean her boat and had one of her beers and headed home. Very nice day on the water, unforunately the fish did not cooperate very well.

Way to go Nita, Rabbit and Bobber. It is always nice to get out no matter how much you catch.

I'm assuming that would be Captain Nita......those big rain drops can really sting sometimes. Thanks for the report guys. I was wondering where the bobber has been.

the bobber is alive & well. always enjoy fishing with friends even when they outfish me. being old, i started out with a piggy perch and then moved up to a few dink trout. had to leave before testing strength with any keepers. always another day to find the BIG ONE.
God bless out troops.
