| Wonder how fast the cops would show up if 30 seconds after the first 911 call a second call told the cops to slow down because the victum just shot dead the attacker. |

| Sucks to hear for sure.. On the other hand though, when no details can be given, what exactly is the PD supposed to do?? Hard to find an assailant, especially when you have no idea who/what you are looking for.. |

It was after midnight. She said a man got into a dark jeep driven by another man. How many dark jeeps do you think are driving around the island at that time of night. I think she did good considering she was blind sided w/ a punch in the face and it was dark. I agree that the police can only go on what they are given, but a simple call to Port A to look out for a dark jeep would have been nice. Alert the cops in the bluff in case they escaped towards town. There are not many cars on the road that time of night and even less dark jeeps.

| Carry a gun at all times, or at least have quick access to one. You are your best protector. Police will get there after the attack. I shot them to stop them, I was infear for my life, I want to see a lawyer. |

| I am all about carrying but at the beach after midnight, most are probably drunk. Cops cannot do much on a random assault. Carrying a gun to a beach party is just asking for trouble! |

WOW!!!!... Move to Mexico if you want to see what no police is like.. They aren't miracle workers you know.. Dark Jeep narrows it down to a poo poo of possibilities.. As soon as you realize that things don't happen in a split second, the better off you will be.  |

You need to rethink what you said. For you to say that the cops are not here to protect you is a BS!!!! Most of the police are here to protect you and do what they can when they can. But they can not be every where at every minute something happens. You have to think about how to take care of your self. By not putting your self in a situation that may be risky. Are what to do if something does happen. it's not the cops fault something like this happens It's not the girls fault either there is only one SOB to really blame!! But the world we live in is not safe and you have to take care of your self. hell when the cop do catch someone the judges don't do any thing and just let them go. if you want to blame someone look higher up but not the cop they can only do what they can. they are under payed and over worked and most want to help not all but most.
I bet if something ever happened to you. you will be call them to help. |
