Hello All,
New to town and trying to figure stuff out. Looking for any small lakes or ponds in the area to flyfish bluegill/brim/perch. Anyone willing to clue me in?

Waldron Park in Flour Bluff. I think Sunset Lake might have some off of Holly.

...Tyler. I looked on Google Maps and saw a Waldron Field - not "park" - with no sign of a pond or lake.

Tried Lake Mathis at the State Park the other day - saw carp and gar but no 'gills and it was a bit noisy from boats and jet fleas. Would like to find someplace smaller and quieter! Noticed on Google Maps what appears to be some gravel pits near the Nueces River north of town. Are these fishable or accessible to the public?

those may be waste water treatment plant ponds (not sure what you're referring to.

and Tyler, its Lakeview park, at the corner of holly and rodd field. good enough place to try the buggy-whipper.

Waldron Pond is just to the south off glenoad drive about halfway between waldron and flour bluff drive. try google and you should find it in flour bluff.

and instead of fooling with bluegills, take the same setup and flies and go try one of the cause way piers or clems at night for some trout. fun stuff maynard.
