Nice report, I think thats the first report i've heard of pompano being caught off the packery jetties . I was thinking about how nice of a morning it would be to be fishing on my way to school this morning. _________________ My Pictures - http://flickr.com/photos/jerrodmills/sets/ |

Awesome bro...we were the group of about 6 trucks parked 50yards south of the rocks. Saw you leave around 4:00 or so. WQe got a big skunk for the day. Anyway, those are some sweet Pomps, 19" should go 3-1/2 -4lb. The biggest I've seen come off PINS in 20+ years was mabey 21" at 4-1/2lb. Also, after you left, I saw a guy wading next to the rocks in the wade gut pull out 2 Flounder going 20" or so. Ya'll sorry bastiges...LOL
later,

| To keep those Sp macs on the hook, use about a 3' piece of 50 lb mono as a leader with a long shanked thin wire hook 3/0 and don't let them take it all day before you set the hook. I slammed the big macs at BHP this afternoon on shrimp under a cork(live or dead), mannolures, and everything I had already used and abuse lure-wise in my tackle bag. They were even chewing up an old ratttle-trap. Other folks were catching a bunch of pomps on dead shrimp and that is what I was trying for, but the macs wouldn't let it be long enough for one to find the bait. I hate days like this-NOT. Did you catch your pomps with shrimp? |
