If you're going this weekend, the conditions are as good as they've been in a while. Don't forget about Mustang Island this part of the year. May and June can produce some really good fish off the beaches, if the wind is down.

Forgive me, but how can it be "as good as it has been in a while" when the predicted winds are 15 knots from Friday - Monday?

Is there something about PINS that allows it to have good surf fishing even when the wind is blowing?

Or am I looking at the wrong forecasts?

He's right they are going to be as good as has been in a while as they have been over 20 knots for quite a long time.

What I see is 4 things.
1) The swell forecast Bluffer put up predicts small surf so it should lay down and clear up.
2) Click on the Port A Tide Info link on the left hand side of the home page. Big swing in the distance from high to low and the low starts in the morning so you get to fish a falling tide all day. You have the full moon to deal with but I bet early afternoon will be killer.
3) Last week in May and first week in June can be awesome for surf trout.
4) I'm stuck in town so you know it's going to be on.

Wind at 10-15 sure sounds better than 20-25.

I'm being redundant, but the wind won't be unfishable at 10-15 mph. Usually it lays down at night a bit making for good conditions early. It's been blowing 20+ for a while all day and night. Surf just won't clear up when it blows all day and night. The wave heights estimated at the beginning of this thread are about as good as you'll ever see. Ever. The worst period is only 2' waves or so, and it actually forcasts some glass-like conditions. That combined with some fishable wind is about as much as you can ask for and way better than normal conditions this time of year. If you go, you might just pass me on your way down. I'll be somewhere near the 4wheel drive only sign, or maybe just Mustang. The scenery is a little better.

Nice!

I'll be driving a black & silver Dodge 4x4 p/u (with a toolbox).

I'll let you know how well it clears up, because this weekend "should" be the first spearfishing trip of the year.
