I live in the pharrow valley areas off sandpiper dr and has 3 rods stolen that were on my porch last night. I know i made the mistake of leaving them on there but i thought id post something up so maybe if some one saw them they'd report it. I washed them when returning from the beach and then layed them on the tree next to the porch to dry, while waiting for them to dry i fell asleep and woke up this morning to find they were gone.

So heres the description.
12/0 - Black Handle, Black Spool. Blue Berkley big game 130lb with 80lb clear mono backing on Cut down Harrington 552 with Aftco Silver Roller guides. Black reel seat All black wrap with red and brownish base wrap

Penn International 80STW 2 speed, Smoke colored 100lb line with 100 lb momoi diamond blue braid backing on Harrington 553 green wrap black grips with "hunter" between the guides on the butt and a gold gimbal. Gold and black reel seat.

Penn Senator 16/0. Green 130lb line with white dacron backing, Harrington 555 with purple and gold wrap and aftco rollers.

If you know anything about these rods or have seen them on the beach, pier, or in someones truck or pawn shop after May 5, 2010. Call me at 512 468 7786 or the police. I'd rather you call me.

Thank you for your help and hopefully i can get these back.

I guess we will need to have the Hall monitors be on the lookout for stolen items. Laughing Still, getting stuff stolen sucks as it happened to me once too and I hope you recover the gear.

I had a bunch of tackle (about 15 rods & 12 or 13 reels) stolen last Thanksgiving weekend from my truck at my sisters house in Corpus. Never heard a word from the police or from any of our resident "Hall Monitors". Strange how this worked out, asking for help from (shall we say vigalanties) just a few days after criticizing those same people.

I actually came out in fairly good shape after filing a claim under my homeowners policy. Didn't get it all back but have lots of shinny new goodies now. Good luck to you, hope you have some type of insurance to help cover you at least partially. That type of gear would be expensivee to replace.

Sucks about your rods. Good luck find them.

Looking out for people is one thing. Ratting them out is another... Nobody likes a rat, or a thief for that matter!!!

I'm not quite grasping this statement. If you steal something, and someone tells, he/she is a rat? Maybe I misconstrued what you were saying, as I'd gladly support such a "rat."

My comment was in regards to a different thread about people ratting eachother out for minuscule things. I agree turn in the thieves!!!!

Theft of our resources versus theft of a rod and reel. What's the difference?

As I stated in a previous thread. A handful of recreational fishermen breaking rules will not effect much. Stealing peoples possesions is another story.

only people who do wrong call others rats. those of us who obey the rules do not use that term to describe people who report unlawful behavior. we call them responsible citizens. bummer about your rods. sucks for anyone to be a victim of theft. even those who blatantly flaunt there illegal actions for everyone to see.
