I walk my dog brandy every morning around first light. I must say that the sunrises over the Padre Island are spectacular. Really starts my day off in a mood of peace and tranquility. I check the water level, clarity, and look for bait activity.
This morning i saw running lights with high towers running out to my honey holes in the twilight, and I saw where they stopped.

Yep, as much as I hate it there is another redfish tournament this weekend
this one is associated with the boat show. If I'm not mistaken it is for three
days. Boy isn't that great, I'm looking so foward to getting run over, cut off
and having the flats burned up in front of me for the next three days.

The redfish tournaments are what made me get burned out on bay fishing .
The really bad part is the tournament guys are bad enough, it's the wannabe redfish cup guys that just want to run around at 60mph with a deer blind sized tower on their boat just to look cool

that's the good thing about being able to fish mainly tuesday & thursday the whole place to your self

Yea my buddy and I were out this morning. We were doing well with the reds, and there was a tourney boat real close to us. I think that they were astonished that a couple of average joes were out fishing them.

$1200 entry fee, but 10 grand for first. I hear that not many teams signed up? Not I, I'm done with tournaments. Expect more to come.

I saw Cajun Phil Broussard running around the boat show yesterday afternoon. David West was filming the first weigh in. I think the lead was just under 18lbs and Jay and Jay Ray Watkins had 14.5. 20 or 22 teams.
