As for the man that is trying to preach morals to a United States Veteran of War. You and your family wouldnt be here and this wouldnt be a free country without the Brave men and women that have fought for us. He was instructed by our President and his commanding officers to do what he did. How dare you question his morals and actions in war. I sure hope you never have to send a son or daughter in to war.
.

All I said was I - personally- would not go parading around saying that I have killed another human being for "less" than stealing a cooler. If he was ordered to do so, then thats unfortunate, and so be it. Following orders is one thing, justifying killing a human being for stealing a cooler by saying that you are a war vet, sorry, doesn't cut it. It is my decision, not preaching morals, just saying my opinion. It has nothing to do with rights to bear arms. Nothing to do with disrespect for war vets, so don't get all riotious on me. Own all the guns you want, and shoot at whoever you want, providing you are legally allowed to. But I personally draw the line at shooting somebody who steals my cooler. As for locking him up, hell yeah, arrest him and sentence him to whatever the law dictates. Hes a criminal and he deserves it. Him and his accomplice.

Call me a bleading heart, call me whatever you want. I recently had a 350 dollar gps stolen from my car in my driveway. Not 500 bucks, but close enough. If I had caught him in the act, would I have sprayed his brains on the sidewalk...nope. Would I give him a chance to return it, probably not, but I suppose that is CAL's choice.

When I was about five or six we had a neighbor that would sneak into our garage and steal meat out of our deep freeze. We saw hime several times but my dad never did anyhting and it used to bother me. The same guy stole some fishing rods out of our truck and my father went next door and grabed another grown man by the arm and demanded back our poles. He got them and that was it. He continued to take food and dad didnt make an issue out of it... or lock up the garage, and said later on I would understand the difference.
If this cat is stealing a $500 cooler....it doesnt sound like he is doing it to eat. HE is just a lazy useless individual who is willing to take what someone else has worked for. I couldnt afford a 500 dollar cooler...if i did I'd hafta make a BIG sacrifice to buy it and would be plenty pissed if some jackhole decided he would steal mine instead of working, earning, and then buying. Turn then guy in for our sake and for his. If he is your friend maybe a date in court will keep him from escalating his his CRIMINAL activities. I lost over $1000 worth of gear in one trip to Corpus 3 years ago. THe cops did nothing and i still havent replaced all of it. It really pisses me off to think this guy pulled that one too because a witness described a large dark truck. Get this guy of the streets and off the water.

no, it's "thanks" for the spelling correction... As for a die hard liberal asking is "this" what we've come to Shocked . No my friend, with your people in the white house right now, we have much more coming (unfortunately). In their dreams this country won't have guns to be able to shoot that thief with. I had to ltorna, too much of a moral rich topic for me not to express myself.

Is it just me or did anyone else take Itorna1's answer of "Is this what we have come to" as making a joke about the spelling correction in order to lighten this up? Heck, I have always told everyone that the last "good" conservative I knew was Barry Goldwater. Even Reagan dissappointed me by racking up some monster defecits during some of his years in office. I'm all for second ammendment rights and would have no problem blowing away someone if I even thought that I or someone I love was in danger. However, blowing away someone over an ice chest might be a little much even for me. And yes, I was really P.O.ed when some scumbags ripped off over $2,000 in fishing gear out of my truck this past Thanksgiving weekend, but I don't think I would take someone's life for it. Now kneecapping him, that's a different story.

I guess I will chime in here. Just remember if you are going to post someones name on the internet, be damm sure you have the right guy. As far as retaliation, this is still the USA(for now I hope) and a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a jury of his peers in a court of law. That said, I hate theives and I have been ripped off more than once. The worst thing anybody ever stole from me was my infant daughters car seat. Old and full of cheetos, but the scumbags took it anyway. I am no expert on the law but I think $500.00 pretty much puts you beyond petty theft and up in the felony range. Do the right thing and call the police with your information. Let them investigate and file criminal charges. I'm sure this was not the first theft for this person. If you do not handle this properly, it surely won't be the last....just my.02

I still say the whole thread is the result of a troll.

But, come tomorrow, when the BIG REVEAL happens (so long as said Yeti doesn't get returned), I suppose we all shall see.

I'm beginning to call bluff on this whole Cooler thing. On the same note ,I believe that we have broken every record on the longest continous post replies to a thread on the history on this site.
But, shouldn't we all just be fishing?
