Lot's of fat trout ,reds and drum on the drop of flats and deep channels this time of year.
I'm using soft plastic Assassin's sea shads on a 1/8 or 1/16oz head.(Chicken on a chain or Charteuse) Also slow sinking Old school MirrOlures like the 51mr,52mr and the catch 2000 -20mr and 22mr-Chbl suspending twitchbaits. I like using the 51mr and the catch 2000 when fishing shallower drop offs.(three to six feet or less) Because the line attachment is on the nose of the lure. This allows you to fish the shollower drop offs without hanging up on the bottom.
These are great old school cold water baits that work just as good today as thay did way back in the 50's and 60's. Use slow sinking bates for the best results.
Six of the trout are 20+ and one 24+ the reds are 22 to 25 1/2.
Not to bad for a cold December day.
Remember to work your lures much slower this time of year as the fish are much more lethargc.
Good fishing and good luck.
