Im still stuck at 27.5" ...but mine went right at 7lb 3 oz ...really fat. I think yours will go 8lb EASY and safe to say closer to 9lb...Yours has some girth to it and Ive seen several 28" and 29" trout go 8lb to 8.5lb

What a beauty! That beats my 28 1/2 incher. What an awesome fish! You're really livin' the dream. I agree on the replica. Keep those pics and when you can, get it done. When, not if, I get my 30 + fish, I'm going to get a replica mount. Someday.... if the good Lord's willing to let me.

thanks Gramps, you are right about livin' the dream, I say that all the time whenever people ask how I am doing. And its true, anybody who enjoys fishing and lives in this area is really living the dream. Don't know how good you have it until its gone. I have already had my fair share of fishing moments in my first year down in Corpus that make me want to stay another 4 and go for another degree.

Congrats on the really nice fish...take and keep measurements. Later you may want to have a mount and can get a replica. I am getting the itch big time and you aint helpin with that monster. Looks like the opening of big trout season is on.

That is a porker sow! Great catch. In this cold water, they expend alot of energy just staying warm, so cold weather catches rarely are very exciting. The one exception is big old black drum, but that is less of a fast running fish and more of a slow truck heading down the road.

Great catch, and great fish! Cool

Please tell us you have a dog, because I hope the various dog snacks are not beer food. Laughing Laughing Laughing

LMAO Bluffer! Thats not just any jason mask! Thats a jason mask with a Jaromir Jagr 1996 Mullet. Clearly an essential part of the fully equipped bach-pad.

(in retrospect, not sure how many on here get the jagr reference, but kudos to those that do)

well this made my day. FINALLY a fellow fisherman catches a whopper of a trout and decides to fillet it after taking pics and much pride in the fish while committing to CPR in the future. And no one has thrown out any bs comments about "you must be hungry" or "you should never keep that trout" etc. Nice fish dude, and I know exactly where you were Wink seen your pimp daddy car too many times. I've caught a few fatties there lately, but short fatties. Still a cool place.
