I think you missed redfish1000 point....
I agree with all of you, but he is right also. This board is no longer a fishing report board. One fishing report per 15 post about average. I really don't care about that though, why would you corpus boys want to let everyone know where your fish are biting? This board is more like a institutional club of a couple of fishing buddies that everyone seems to like in a way. It's kind of like the Seinfeld show, " a fishing board about nothing ". I'm not trying to offend anyone, but I agree with Redfish1000. Seperate the board with a fishing reports page only. If you do, you'll see that we are right. One report a week on average with about 770 registered user fishermen on this board.
just me thoughts

It never has been a fishing report forum. It is a saltwater fishing forum. I do appreciate the fishing reports and I have pages devoted to fishing reports for certain areas too like Captain Black's latest report from Baffin. I separate those so that I can get sponsors for those pages too. It is not posted here but posted at http://www.corpusfishing.com/baffin.htm And yes sometimes they get out of date but I do try. |

Corpusfishing.com
The number one choice for FREE fishing reports from Baffin Bay, Padre Island Seashore, Corpus Christi Bay, the Laguna Madre, Aransas Pass/Rockport, and Port Aransas. A cool message board too!
So this is just a cool message board huh? I was mistaken a year ago, I thought the board revolved around fishing reports. Can someone explain to me why they think that there is a market on the board for everything but fishing reports? besides the small amount of rod and reel tricks and tips and what lure to use where, it is more political. _________________ FIRELINE WILL ' GET ER DUN '! |

Fireline have you not seen the other pages with reports? Go to the homepage at www.corpusfishing.com and click on the report pages.
Don't take this personally but in all 27 posts you have made on this "fishing report forum" as you call it not one of them was a fishing report nor do they have to be. I wish we'd get more too!

In the perfect world we all could go fishing everyday in perfect water and weather conditions and all post 25,000 word detailed fishing reports with pictures of all of our limits on 10 different species of fish. But since we don't live in a perfect world we fish when we can (no red tide, high muddy surf, strong winds) and post reports if we do catch some fish. I think most of those people who use this sight do post a report when they have one. At least it isn't like some sights where every post is a question like "I have 15 kayaks, does anyone think I should buy another and if so why? If I do buy one where should I keep it? I have 6 green kayaks, if I do buy another should it be green also? So this site isn't as bad as some may think. _________________ Mastergunner, supporter of hardheads for state fish of Texas |

Your not understanding my post, Tyler. I stopped posting fishing reports before the site crashed because the out of towners where the majority posting reports while you corpus boys just sat around. "CorpusFishing.com " I'm guessing but rabbit seems to be the only one who posts almost everytime he goes. That's something I'm GUESSING , that you don't do. As you read, i hope you understand, that you have just informed me that the " message board " is not a " fishing reports board ", as I thought it was. Which explains why there are hardly any reports posted on the board, as Redfish1000 explained. Which brings us back to the topic at hand that you all missed and Tyler has just explained which is why I am now asking " add a reports board to the message board "... Do a poll to see if everyone would be for it? If it will affect your sponsors, say so? I can almost bet you that your traffic to the reports board will out way your traffic to your " everyone has a complain, opinion, rod and reel, or trick board ".
like I said, just food for thought, not trying to piss anyone off.

I hear you Fireline but you can't force folks to post reports nor can you please everyone. I have caught hell for posting too much info at times crowding fishing areas, not posting enough reports etc.
Let's hear it for guys like Rabbit, Bluffer, CCKAYAKER, the Gollas, Mastergunner, BeachBumCSF, Tarzan, Topdog15 and all the others whom I left out who do post reports frequently.
If I created a political forum then I'd get the rep versus dems, liberal versus conservatives etc and then the important fishing related political items would suffer by not getting read by the majority of folks on the board. I don't visit the political forums on other outdoor message sites. It is like arguing the best vehicle maker and then you get the Ford/Chevy/Dodge debates and arguments. I could create a fishing reports forum. Maybe I or someone will do a poll to see if it is wanted.
Not now though as my real job recording and editing sounds calls!

..... but a smorgasbord.
The originator of this thread, unless he was trying to hide his purpose as I first suggested, hasn't been misunderstood by anyone, least of all by webhost Tyler. I like having a board where the subjects of interest are dictated by the responses of the majority, not by the desires of individuals. I'd have thought this thread would have evaporated by now, and suppose it hasn't because the red tide and weather have made it nearly the only show in town, except for grousing ABOUT the red tide and weather.
Anyhow, Tyler calls the shots, regardless of what anyone else might want. I'm extremely glad he endorses inclusion over exclusion, and has enough of a sense of humor to tolerate the personal bees in our bonnets. _________________ The Trash Heap Has Spoken!

True, but those posts are usually pretty easy to spot. If you don't want to read it, simply don't click on it.
I not big on the political side of things...but I love my beaches. So, sometimes we must deal with some politics post to help educate people like me so we don't lose our access.
As Tyler said, thing should quiet down soon. _________________ FISH ON!!,

OK, fishing report. In the last month I have been to Charlie's Pasture once and PINS 3 times. I caught nothing using live and cut mullet. Not even a hardhead or whiting. _________________ Mastergunner, supporter of hardheads for state fish of Texas |

I understand that you can't please everyone tyler, as we all deal with that everyday. I don't mind, even if I'm the only one, in suggestion an added feature to your website. Johnny, it shouldn't bother you a bit because it has nothing to do with you or what you offer. You can still keep your intellectual soap box and post your one pompano fishing report a year. Your resisting something you know nothing about this time I beleive. Your market for this website only consist of a minority of people for the corpus area. The majority of your market are out of towners as you can see in the memberlist. We miss the beach, we miss the bay's, we miss the fishing. Which is why all I'm suggesting is an added feature to the website. In no way am I trying to put this site down in my speech, but am suggesting that would be positive. If no one post a fishing report than thats fine. But with support from you and everyone else with in a year you could probably be driving more traffic to this site. Why would you be against that? I don't think you would be. And the more people means that more people can read about " Johnny saving the world." All of that would equal more informed people. And then that would equal more sponsors, money, and conservation. All because you added a feature and promoted it and built a far bigger network. That's good FREE advice that you can bank on, which proves my support for this site.
