Finally got on the water this morning after what seems like an eternity. Anyway caught one trout after another. Dark plastics fished slow was the ticket. The only problem was that they were all 14 to just too close to call. Had a blast and did manage a few for dinner.
Good luck and have a great Thanksgiving. |

good to hear. thanks for the report. I was out this morning and didn't have as much luck, fished near the causeway, flour bluff side, covered lots of ground, throwing everything but the kitchen sink. Total of 7 guys fishing the general area over the coures of a few hours, nobody gettin nada.
Smart move going for deeper water![/code] _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |

No birds working, but they were busting bait on the edges. I know that it is not cold enough yet, but it was typical of a winter bite. SLOW and Subtle. There was a few other boats working the edge, but I could see them bumping it way too fast. Start to Slow things down. This week with this new front and it should be even better.
Good luck |

I made it out this a.m. too after a long time.
Only had a couple of hours so launched Yak from Dimmit . (Wished I could have stayed the late morning and early afternoon.)
Got into trout ....all released.....and you are correct smallishin size and a slow retrieve with dark plastic worked. Very suttle bites ...no real strikes.

Thanks for the report. I was wondering how others were doing. A buddy and I were chewin some of the same waters. We managed a trout each on top and a few others on plastics. One keeper red. Trout released. And it's funny you should mention not slowing down enough. The bites we got were on a slower presentation. Not my favorite way to fish. _________________ Save the seagrass......Shoot some ducks |
