Coldwater (60 degrees or less) Fishbites are available in Crab & Squid "Chunks" and Clam & Shrimp "Strips." All of these are in the white color. The Coldwater formula is a little more intense than the normal "Warmwater" baits. Lots of people have had super luck with the Crab Chunks for Black Drum at this time of the year.

BTW, you can use the Coldwater baits in warmer water as long as you know they will disolve a little faster.

Hope this helps.

Im not sure if the color makes a difference. I have caught black drum and pomps on green shrimp and on white clam and others swear by the red. So I guess its what ever color turns you on. Very Happy

I have the most luck for Reds on white.

The other colors seem to catch almost everything else.

Fishbites rule!

Roy's Bait & Tackle has 'em, CosWay has 'em, probably a few other bait shops as well.

Also, Wal-Mart on Greenwood has 'em, though their selection is limited mostly to an assortment of colors of the shrimp, and crab in white only. I also haven't seen the cold water Fishbites there.

We use Crab flavor at this time of the year for Drum (Red & Black). Shrimp still will do the job on the big Whiting. On the Jetties, try Clam for Sheephead.
