| was itching to try out my christmas gifts (a convector cn55l on a master black fin, and a roddy hunter 181 on a 12' daiwa) hit the beach around 11, south of bob hall today around the 250 marker. took some getting used to, but finally got the hang of throwing that huge rod. caught 2 big hardheads(not what i was looking for), and a small whiting. so moved up to the north sticks around 2:00 or so. talked to some guys there and they were having just as much luck as me. threw out a little north of the north sticks and bamm1 i get slammed on the long rod a nice sized whiting around 15", then a double one whiting and one hardhead. put the whiting as bait on the cn55, let it soak til we left but never got any bites. first trip to the surf, thanks for all the advice and help, didn't catch the big reds that i'm used to at the jetties, but im sure i will soon. |
