It's on it's way to it's final resting place offshore Pensacola, Florida.
"The Oriskany will be placed on clean white sand bottom approximately 22.5nm SSE of Pensacola Pass (17nm due south of Santa Rosa Island) in 212 feet of water (1.5 nm SE of the Chevron Rig) . The top of the structure is planned to be at 50', and the flight deck around 110'. Visibility in the area is commonly 60-100'+, with water temps ranging from the mid to high 80's in the summer to the upper 60's in the winter. Currents in the area normally range from none to light."
I saw it out of my 10th floor office window in downtown Corpus moving under the high bridge and out across the bay about 10:00am today.
Here's one when she was in her prime!

What building are you in Flak?
I watched out our windows too. I'm on the lobby level of One Shoreline Plaza. What a sight!
Two tugs towing and it looked like three pushing. One in the back and one on each side. That's alot of tug boats! _________________ Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.

| Be even cooler if they were sinking her 30 miles offshore rather than dragging her to Florida. |

I understand Florida provided more $$ than Texas for claiming it. I'm on the 10th floor of the Frost bank Bld. _________________ Ahh sand between my toes! |
