Did you try the edge of the ICW where it opens up? I heard there have been some reds and trout(trout deeper) along the spoil islands on that side and then south of the JFK causeway. They might not have been up on the flats.
Bet it was pretty out there! I was sitting at work having a tough time working on the computer knowing it was so nice out.

In the winter, when cold fronts move thru, the water temp drops too in the back bays. The reds & trout will move to deeper waters because its warmer. When the tide is dropping, they tend to feed where the water drains off the flats into channels and holes. The redfish will concentrate in one area or will "STACK UP". When you find them, you usually will catch them one after another in the same spot.
Tyler and I have an on-going joke about it. The last 2 times I have been down this fall, I try to talk Tyler into going to bays with me to find those STACKED UP reds. Each time we hit PINS instead. Each time, I get a report that the reds were indeed stacked up where I thought they would be. One of these days, I am gonna put Tyler on some those stacked up reds. _________________ GoinCoastal aka Cap'nSherbet |
