My brother and I went out yesterday morning to the local flats (Vanderbilt, northern part of lavaca bay) and picked up these good reds from 25" to 27 1/2" in under an hour. My fishbites let me down for the first time ever. I had been bragging to my bro about how awesome they were and took some with me. He is a die hard crab user. Well.....after he had two fish in the boat I gave in and quickly boated two fish on crab and the last ones were a double. We have had a very high tide around here for some reason. It was around 11:30 AM and screaming out at the time we caught these fish.

Always great to land some quality fish, just have to go with what's working, but always keep those fishbites handy.

Yep, there are times when Fishbites just don't get it done. Remember, Fishbites are synthetic and if the real thing is what the fish want it's Ok to go natural. Still, having that secret in the box has saved more days than not.
Boy, that was hard for me to post _________________ Magic |

If you clicked the web site from RodBreaker's post you know about Fishbites now. You currently can't get them at Academy but if you look at the Texas dealers pages on the site you can get them almost anywhere on the coast. If you fish out of Corpus, Roy's Bait & tackle has one of the largest stocks around.

| The thought was lurking deep down the whole way out there but I had to try it. That was my first chance in a year to try fishbites right next to the real thing. I had to try it. I did still get one pick up right when we got there but it only carried it about 20 yards and dropped it, never ran with it. Still a diehard fishbite user. Time and time again they have came through for me. I missed out today and had to work. My brother and his wife went and picked up 20 trout fairly quick with a shrimp tail worked under a popping cork but I cant remember what color he was using. He said they caught aroung 45-50 fish and ended up keeping 20 trout 15-17 inches long, one red and one flounder. |

The cheapest place to get fishbites in this area is the Bait Bucket in flour bluff. _________________ Fishing and Kayaking its a rough life but somebody has to do it.

Thanks for the info, never fished artifical out there until a few weeks ago. Don't catch anyting thou, had one hit very hard but I didn't have the drag set right so it came off. These Fishbites sound like they're the things to use. Has anybody ever try them in freshwater? maybe use them as a trailer? _________________ even a bad day of fishing beats a great day at work |
