|
|
I copied and pasted this from another board that I've frequented for years. I consider this guy a friend.
| Quote: | Hey everyone. I'm posting this because many of the news stations are reporting that Mosul is going to be the next Falluja. Please don't believe everything you read. Things are heating up here, that's true, but we and the Iraqis still control the city and the insurgents are getting their asses handed to them when they engage us. The insurgents do not control police stations or any of the 5 bridges that are in the city as some of the news is reporting. In fact, we control all of them. The BBC reported that an "American military facility" has been over run. That is NOT TRUE!! Nothing is as bad as the news makes it out to be. The troops that go out side the wire each day are doing a wonderful job each and every day. It pisses me off that the media doesn't report the whole truth. The guys deserve better. Anyway, thought I'd post this to give everyone another perspective.
|
It still amazes me that the media spins this and flat out lies to the public about such important issues!
And people are still naive enough to believe that they don't have an agenda hidden under the way they report the "news".

| That may well be true but I think it's nice to have a board like this one where I can find refuge from the war, politics, and social issues that abound in many other fishing forums. |

Jerry, it's from Team Chevelle. http://www.chevelles.com
You have to go to the Tech Forums and the "off topic" stuff is in "Bench Racing".
With almost 20,000 registered members and a few thousand supporting members, we're bound to have a few of our boys in the military.
I'm sorry if I offended anyone bringing this here. If I was wrong, Tyler, please let me know and it won't happen again.
I just believe it's important for people to know the truth from people who are actually there. Many of those guys over there wish they could come home and wet a line, so I think it's good to honor them everywhere we go. To me that means to take it a little bit further than a little magnetic yellow ribbon on our cars. I'd be fighting right alongside those boys if I had the choice, but I was too old to re-enlist when the U.S. decided to start being proactive. |

I am new to this board. I agree with you Cj. I am one who doesn't have much use for our news media. They are way to powerfull and liberal. Oh well I'll leave it at that. From me THANKS. _________________ A bad day fishing still beats a good day at work! |

I for one am glad you posted the report. I refuse to listen to or read any of the so-called news media. It's just a bunch of garbage so I appreciate a true report from the field. If you have occassion to converse with our man in the field, give him my best wishes and safe return. |

When I submitted that post last night my connection crashed. When I got back up and looked at the board I didn't see the post. I thought, oh well, it didn't really add anything of value to the thread and went to bed thinking it was lost to cyberspace. I had second thoughts and had hoped it didn't make it to the board. My bad.

Rodbreaker, ain't nobody ever said that any board was your best choice for information. All I said was I wanted to pass something on that I read there from someone who's actually fighting for us in Iraq. Excuse me for thinking that you might actually care about the sacrifices made by our fighting forces whether you agree with the cause or not.
It's not about politics, war, or social issues. It's about men and women who voluntarily put themselves in harm's way to fight for the American way of life.
Looks to me like you like this subject, otherwise you wouldn't have revisited it, nor would you have found a reason to type a cynical reply about where I got the information. This subject didn't open itself on your computer, and I'm fairly certain that no one held a gun to your head to get you to read it.
Rodbreaker, I hope you have a wonderful day, and I hope you have lots of happiness in your life. BTW, I do appreciate that you took the time to post the facts about the law regarding driving past stopped emergency vehicles. Another subject where I was misled by the news media.
I'm going fishing now in the cold wind and rain. And I'm grateful to all of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines (past and present) for the sacrifices they've made, and that they continue to make, so that I can still have the freedom to go fishing in miserable weather. _________________ Chad Landry

| That is true CJ. I do not believe anything they say. The news can't even get the weather right! Thanks dead-wrong Dale! Now because I believed the weather I stayed home instead of going fishing. Overcast and rain my arse! |
