Caught this albino rainbow yesterday at the Guadelupe river on fly. It was 22" and weighed 5 1/4 lbs. I had to chase it down the river for about 30 yards as it almost stripped my reel. I have caught a few albinos up there before, but none were over 13".
It's heading to the taxidermist!

I've also caught a gold rainbow trout on the Guadalupe, but mine was only like 8 inches long. They are beautiful, aren't they ?

Hey Guest,
I have fished the Guad ever since they started stocking trout in the mid sixties. When I fish the special regulation portion I always release all the fish I catch. The limit there is 1 per day over 18" and this one is the only one I have kept in the last 3 years. I caught 17 other trout Thursday that are still swimming in the river. I decided to keep this fish since it is the fish of a lifetime for me and will go on the wall. |

That is a great catch and not only a beautiful fish but one posted with an educational aspect. I did not know an albino trout was that color. Thanks.

Great catch. That is a beast for Texas. Keep it, eat it, hang it. |

I went to the Guad a couple of weeks ago and caught a 14 incher and 15 incher in the regular zone. I only keep about 3-4 rainbows a year for eatin. Here is the end result of that 15 incher:

| That fish had to of beaten some odds swimming around with a bananna suit on. How did it get by all the predators when it was smaller? |

That is a nice fish. Congrats on the catch. I have always wanted to catch one of the albino cat fish at Aquarina Springs. _________________ Fish On!!! |

| I saw a trout of the same color and size in a river around Almont, Colorado. This was a catch and release area and the fish were feed by the owners daily. It's amazing that Texas can produce an equivalent fish in an area were fish are taken. The fish should make an excellent mount that will be a conversation piece for years to come. Congratulations! |

hey nice fish netboy. not to give your honey hole away or anything but i think i saw u fishing one day. maybe next to a bridge thats on a road that crosses a river a few times.... i watched u get bowed up a few times. if not it was someone that looked just like ya.
Bluebull... i think that big albino cat in aquarena has passed on... i havent seen him in a while. i've helped out with a few qual-dives in the past year or two and havent seen him. he always hung out under the submarine. there may be more tho. wouldnt advise fishin for them tho... thomas |
