|
|
Whats going on everyone? Been thinking it is high time to do a little reel maintenance but since I have the mechanical aptitude of a rock, do not wanna screw my reels up. . . I am great at taking things apart but not so much at putting them back Is there a place here in SA that any of you would recommend and, if I decide to do this myself what is a good lubricant or grease and where can I get it?
Thanks alot. _________________ "I don't wanna live on that kind of island, no I don't wanna swim in a roped off sea. It's too much for me, too much for me; I gotta be where the wind and the water are free." -- Jimmy Buffet

are they spinning or conventional? I can help you with spinning reels, but not conventional. _________________ Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.

Trust me, if you have the mechanical apptitude that I have, pay someone to do it! You'll come out better in the long run.

pay as much as 159.00 per fishing reel ... I always keep a schematic and I always do my own cleaning....Granted, I can easily afford to pay someone else to clean them but it's a defeating experience for me....Yes I ave money but can I survive if these "weapons" were to support my family?

the only place I found in SA is RC's about 1/4 mi inside the loop at 410/Marbach. I take my bass reels in to him every couple years. Complete dissassemble / clean and lube. His prices went up a little, I think he charges $15/reel now. Big reels may be more.
