Talked to me dad today. He seems to think now that packery channel is openned up, that the tides are lower than normal. it might be the case, or it might not. But what do you guys think? _________________ FIRELINE WILL " GET ER DONE!!" |

The tide is usually lower this time of year. There have been excessively low tides this year.I've heard said several times around the dock that this is the lowest it has ever been .It is the lowest I've ever seen it.The opening of Packery has had nothing to do with it though.Sure has made catching redfish a little easier the last few weeks.I've had limits 8 of the last 11 trips.

| The tide ranges are greater nearer the passes. The farther away you get, the less range you have. So I would have to say that yes, the highs will be higher & the lows will be lower. BUT,,,,,,,, We have a small tide range in our area. I don't think the difference would be noticed. |

The pass is flowing, but not open to public boat traffic. The really low tides are the norm for this time of the year. However, I have never seen Oso Bay as low as it had been. However, I am sure it has and every so often we get the highest its ever been or the lowest its ever been. May be that it happens ever 30 years. I am 29, so that means I have never seen it _________________ FISH ON!!,

yeah, my dad drives through bayside everyday and he says that bayside is almost all dried up. He has never seen the tides so low either. I guess it is just one of those years. _________________ FIRELINE WILL " GET ER DONE!!" |

| Oh, come on! It could be that the Packery channel has drained too much water out of the bays from Beaumont to Brownsville. Global warming causes a lot of evaporation and that makes the tides low too. I think it is the city councils fault or some kind of weird siphoning effect the moon has on the Gulf of Mexico and the bays. |
