| I normally frequent PINS during the summertime to fish, but I have some time off and was thinking of going this weekend. My question is what is the best rig for this time of year, where is the best spot for bait placement, and what is the most frequently used bait. Any help would be appreciated thanks |

I would have to say that you have more variety of larger fish closer but depends on the tide and finding bait. The last few times I went to the surf I couldn't find a mullet to save my life, yesterday to my surprise in one throw I had more finger mullet than I could use and ended up freezing them for future trips down PINS. I use the same rigs year round, just change hooks and bait depending if I'm fishing for pomps or bull reds. _________________ Hardheads should be the state fish of Texas |

Get some cheap single or double drop rigs, 2/0 eagle claw light wire circle hooks, some shrimp and fish bites. Cast to the horizon, catch pomps. Take home. Clean. Make fish tacos, blackened pomps, and just enjoy. |
