Dunno about croaker...I've kept shrimp, finger mullet and piggies in the same bucket with no problem.

Thanks, if you can keep piggies with shrimp, I figure croaker would be okay too.

Not a good idea, the two do not do well together. For that matter, Croaker and any other bait do not do well together. They are too pricy to risk lodsing to anything other than a trout!

We keep em alive in an ice chest with a little 10 dollar pump to circulate the water. Every now and then we change out the water. Keeps em alive for about 3 or 4 hours usually. Could be longer I guess especially if you got oxygen. But I would agree, croaker shouldn't be mixed with shrimp. Just use em for the trout and reds....they are exspensive.

I put croaker and shrimp together in the same home made live well set up, a cooler with the $10 pump. Both the croaker and the shrimp stayed alive for about 40 hours until I went fishing again.

Hey John, I've been putting shrimp and croaker in the same bait well for sometime, the only problem I've had is a few less shrimp and some fat croaker....LOL

I have been putting pigs, croakers and shrimp all in the same bucket with no bad results but I have not tried keeping them overnight. I have used both air and Oxygen.

I use a pump designed for a live well. I use a garden tractor battery for power and modified the pumps return line that sprays water back in. I took a 2 inch piece of pvc and added a removeable cap, adapter to a rubber hose to connect to the pump and drilled the new spray holes and filled the pvc tube with aquarium charcoal and filter media. I have kept shrimp alive for 2 days mixed with all sorts of live bait caught in the surf with this rig.

The ice chest is one of those cheap Igloos with a ruller built into the lid.

If I remember, I will shoot a pic of it and email it to Tyler to post up.

This was not my idea. I stole the idea from Capt. Robert Galbreath from Bayside. He uses it on his boat to keep croakers alive longer. This system with O2 will keep bait alive indefinately.

I place the ice chest and battery on my cargo rack that slip into the receiver and bungee every thing down when I take the Trooper.

It works!
