|
|
I'm offering a REWARD.
I have to get a little creative here.
Anyone that provides me with a viable lead that ends up to my re-employment in Corpus on or before July or thereabouts, I will give that person a Shimano Calcutta 700 bait cast reel or a Shimano Calcutta Rod: both are almost in new condition. Hardly used. The job has to be something that my Twins and I can live off and not starve. I hope you understand. Please read further.
My expertise is in environmental, health & safety management. Nearly 20 years of management experience including waste, water, wastewater, stormwater, Clean Air Act, HAZMAT-emergency response, OSHA, DOT, Asbestos, radioactive materials, TSCA - PCBs, WMD, site assessments, remediation, enforcement, engineering project design review, technical trainer, etc. My current and last title is Director of a dept.
Why am I offering a REWARD for leads? Because I want to stay in town and I don't have the luxury of all the time in seeking a position since I'm still working (Thank God) and having to take care of my Twins. All the national recruiters are out of town and it's easier for them to place me some place other than Corpus. So, perhaps some of you have more keen sense on where the job is and have direct contacts.
Please PM me with the company's name, a contact name, and phone number. If you know of a specific job that's available in my line of work, I'll need the job title too. If I've already identified a potential situation that you have come up with, then it's a no go. I hope you understand.
I'm sincere and honest to my word and I'll be more than glad to give you my Calcutta reel or rod. Which ever you choose.
Several people already have given me company leads that I didn't even think about. Sometimes for a good reason based on my experience having hired that company or something along that line. If I can get some more details that I don't know about, and I get the job, then the Calcutta is YOURS! I'll even gift wrap it.
Thanks. _________________ Live To Fish Tomorrow... Fish To Live Today

You know my story redfish chaser, I have been out of the Army 2 1/2 years now and still looking for just a job interview and a good job at this point would be icing on the cake. I've done it all from assembling nuclear warheads, developing training programs to taking care of 474 soldiers plus families in Germany. I've been in charge of security for a whole military installation, earned 20 medals, and so on and on. I'm finishing my degree where I just made the Dean's Honor List for the third semester in a roll and I made the Who's Who list for American College and University students for the 2004 - 2005 academic year and I still can't even get a job interview. I think I will change my resume and just say I've been fired from all my jobs and I dropped out of school, maybe then someone will give me an interview. _________________ Hardheads should be the state fish of Texas |

Nice lead reward, but I would hope nobody would actually collect it. If I hear of a lead, I would pass it along solely because Mr. C. needs help, and let him keep his prized rod and reel. I figure Karma will pay me back in the future. _________________ Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.

Big John,
That's a very nice thing to say. But, I would feel even better if the person allowed me to give a little thank you. The reel is nothing. It's a material thing. A job that gets me by so that I can stay here with my Twins, well that's a treasure! I appreciate what you said! _________________ Live To Fish Tomorrow... Fish To Live Today

Torpedo,
Other than fishing, I know a tremendous amt. of knowledge to keep a company out of trouble, improve efficiency and compliance score; thereby, get a higher ROI.
I'm familar with that acronym "EMS" in the EHS industry sense. EMS can mean two things if we're talking about environmental systems or emergency systems: 1. Environmental Management Systems (EMS), or 2. Emergency Management Services/System.
If you're talking about #1, then I have a wealth of experience - 20 years. I was on a team at Exxon that developed the prototype that was to be used Exxon worldwide. It was a Oracle based system. I was at Koch (Flint Hills Resources) before when we started to develop KEMS (Koch Environmental Management System) I know about ISO 14001 too. As for #2, I've been trained in incident mitigation and response, emergency response, HAZWOPER-HAZMAT response, contingency response, etc, etc, etc. _________________ Live To Fish Tomorrow... Mr. C,
Since you have worked at Flint Hills before, I doubt that I can give you any new leads or contacts. I do know that they post jobs on the internet from time to time. You might think about checking on the pipeline division also. There are a lot of refinery/chemical companies in the Port Lavaca area. I don't know anyone there but that area would meet your wants list for smaller towns and saltwater.
I hope this gives you some new angles to look at. Make sure you look at every business card in your Rolodex, all the information you need might be on your desk already.

Getting a job elsewhere out of Corpus Christi isn't the issue. According to recruiters, I can get a job nearly anywhere in the country. It's just that I want to stay in Corpus, PLUS my divorce decree - child custody order says that I CANNOT take my Twins out of Nueces, Gregory-Portland counties. Which really bites. If I want to take a job elsewhere, I have to give my Twins to my ex. Now that sucks. The judge really screwed me over and for my Twins' future. Sorry, a little too much personal info.
I just need to find a job in Corpus and I WILL GET ONE!
Thanks to everyone for suggestions. Man, I'm going to hit the Saturday night's Texas Lotto and throw a big party for my Twins and friends! How cool would that be. _________________ Live To Fish Tomorrow... Fish To Live Today

| Redfish Chaser, are still eligible for a Flint Hills job? I know a couple of the guys at the refinery, one of them is in the environmental department. I can shoot them a link to this site. Keep us posted on the hunt. |

surf puppy,
I appreciate it. I still have contacts there too. FHR has, or did, have turn overs in that dept. Turn overs happens for one reason or another. I know the history there. Perhaps things have gotten better there.
Thanks. _________________ Live To Fish Tomorrow... Fish To Live Today

Check with the drilling companies. One of 'em may need a Safety Engineer. Same goes for the oil companies who use the drilling companies. _________________ Chad Landry
