| I posted about six weeks ago asking opinions about Power-Pro line for baitcasting reels. Ever since I have used 40lb. Power-Pro on my Curado BSF and Calcutta 200. I fish at least once a week sometimes twice; and IMHO Power-Pro works great when used around sharp snags(oysters and rocks).I have landed many trout and redfish that had me snagged-up and i would have to drop the anchor-line on a flout and troll over to the snag and unwrap the line from snags that would have cut even 30lb. mono to shredds. However ; if the line gets hard tension on it from a bottom hang-up or a hard fighting fish you must make sure the line did not pull down under itself on the spool by making a test cast prior to re-baiting or the cast may stop short . Power-Pro dosn't cast as easy as mono but you will land more fish and lose less leaders than using mono. It's sure nice to have a message board with all these fellow anglers to learn and share experiences with. Wumpus |
