Has anyone had any luck at the Indian Point Pier or wade fishing in that area?

Any advice is really appreciated!

It has been too windy lately. My wife and I stopped by and talked to the pier operator Sunday and he said they had been getting speckled trout, sand trout, gafftop, and small blacktips lately. With strong SE winds it gets sandy and the water gets pretty big. When it is green over there the fishing can be good such as wading around there too. Lots of hard sand and a few oysters north of the pier.

I wade fish Nueces Bay just on the other side of the 181 from Indian Point. Park your vehicle under the 181 causeway just 1/4 mile south of Indian Point Park entrance and wade out from there into Nueces Bay. Good solid bottom makes for good walking and the reds have been plentifull for me the past month. I've been using live and dead shrimp, and also live croaker has been productive. Have fun.

I have also fished Indian Point Pier a few nights this month without much luck. All I seen caught any of those nights were nice gafftops.

Oscar Chapa, his family and friends *nailed* MONSTER Black Drum @ Indian Point Pier this year. Take a couple deep breaths, slowly exhale, remain seated and view these jaw-dropping photos:
