Bobhall Pier is still closed, but a date for opening is supposed to be announced today.
Really, when fishing Bob Hall and Caldwell, you want to fish in between the areas where the waves are breaking. That is were the deeper water called guts are. Don't worry about the lights so much.
As far as where to fish in 2 wheel drive, it all hit or miss anyway. South of Bob Hall Pier can be as good as anywhere if the fish are there. Just drive down until you find a spot that looks good, fish a while. If you catch fish, stay, if not, you can drive on down a little further. Again, fish in between the areas where the waves break.

| About a mile south of BHP is Kleberg County (you'll see the signs) You do not need a parking permit etc (Be sure you have a fishing lisense though-they, TPW will check 'em) Then heading South from there you have about ~10 miles of beach of good fishing 2wd then you get to Maliquite Beach {off limits to vehicles for a mile or five) then south of there is Padre Island National Seashore(PINS) You'll need a permit and you should be able to go at least 5 miles or further south Remember to watch the tides in case you are parked too close to the water I have fished these places for over 30 years Good luck! I need to take my dad fishing soon- he loves it |

Water expected to be up to the dunes this weekend due to tropical system in the gulf. Be careful. _________________ Fish hard, fish the Bluff. Surrounded by water!

That should be exactly what they need out at the Sea Sculptures Event! Man, what timing. I hope those people at least got their works judged before the tide washed everything away. _________________ Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
