The weather was nice early, we hit the beach at 10 AM. Slight sea breeze in the AM, but picked up quickly with the rising temps.
We had to search very hard to find clear spots with little or no algae or weed. We could see large pads of weed just off shore in many areas. Lots of birds working between the 10 and 30.
We hit croakers at MM20 and Hammerhead at MM30.
No jellyfish, and fair amounts of baitfish.
All fish taken on live shrimp.
We yakked our baits out, and quickly got hits. No luck anchored off the 3rd gut and sight casting Norton root beer \ green tail plastics. I probably needed live bait. The surf was mild enough to fish from the Yak.
Driving was not to fun with the weed. Spoke to the sea turtle patrol, and they reported the land cut as being clear but crowded. We decided to say where we were.
My buddies and I had a blast..
See ya on the beach..
