| i was there last saturday and the reds were hot on the end of the jetty on cut bait (perch are abundant take a small #1 hook and shrimp and catch all you want), but you have to find the spur if your not fishing on the spur you will likely not catch anything. fish about 50-75ft from the end of the jetty on the last set of double stacked rocks that was where they were catching last week. you can tell you are on the spur because when you cast out your line will likely fall a little further than usual and your angle into the water will be more shallow, not on the spur would result in your line coming all he way back to you and a steep angle into the water. use a good sized reel with 30lb test and a 50-80lb leader about 3-5oz of weight on a double drop rig made from 3way swivels this way you can make the leader out of 50lb and the drop for the weight out of 20 so your weight will break off and leave the rest of the rig leavin you to replace the weight. take plenty of weights as you will lose many. |
