| After being cought in the fog Easter weekend with only a compass I am in the market for a hand held GPS unit and have no experience with them, I have searched the board and have gotten a few ideas but I want to know what GPS unit everyone is using, how much it was, why they picked it and would you pick it again? |

| Sure like my Magellan Map 410 because not only do I have the other GPS features, I can "see" where I'm at on a map. Only complaint is I wished the screen was color, but that's more dollars. I use it hunting, kayaking, and sailing, and it's never failed me. It does eat batteries though. |

I mentioned this in another thread but...
I've had Garmins and they are good but I now have a Lowrance iFinder H2O and it is a MUCH better unit.
If you are looking for a handheld, check them out.
On the battery subject, invest in the 15 mintue rechargables. They are expensive but worth the money in my book. I've been replacing all the batteries in all of our equiopment with them.
