Check this out. Anyone else got something like this or something similar? This one's an Ambassadeur 5600 Tournament Series that I picked up about 2-3 years ago. The art work is embossed in the side plate aluminum. Would enjoy seeing what other people got and collect in fishing equipment that's different.

I have what appears to be the same reel. Mine is labeled an Ambassadeur RXT 5600C Royal Extreme. I purchased it around 2000 and it was a limited edition reel. Not much of a collectors item now with all the scratches on it, I have to quit using it but its one smooth reel.

Looks just like a morrum. I have an old beat up 6600 morrum I found at a pawn shop, very smooth reels

That's a sweet looking reel. I like that emboss on the side. Yes, the 5600 is a VERY smooth reel!!! I can cast real far when I'm chasing down the Reds in the flats. Only thing, it sure does make a loud click sound when depressing the thumb bar. Does yours too? I think that I'll continue to use mine once in a while. I've got it loaded on a 6-12 lb. Allstar 101MX graphite... Extremely light. |

These reels were an off shoot of the old pro max series. These are the tournament series. Ambassadeur came out with the morrum to replace the pro max and tournament series. Pro Max series came out in the early to mid 90's. They had 8 bearings.

I forgot to mention the design is suggestive of Oriental production not Swedish.

Aren't the Ambassadeur's actually made in Sweden and not outresourced to Japan or elsewhere?
