showed up to work friday morning and noone was around. damn i completely forgot the school was closed due to the stock show. so i headed home changed and headed for indian point pier. stopped off at the t-heads and picked up a pound of sea lice and small blue crabs. i headed to the pier and the stand was closed and only one person in the far right corner. when i got there the guy was on his way out and said he didn't even get a bite. so i baited up and threw out in the right corner. after about an hour of nothing biting i started throwing some small piece of fishbite down on a hand line next to the pier. i immediately hooked a pin perch and threw it to the crane. as i dropped down again i saw a huge sheepshead circling the piling. so i started looking at all the pilings there were about 2 sheepshead per piling. so i started throwing down everything in the bait bucket. they wouldn't bite anything. so i found a chunk of oysters someone hauled up on the pier and took the small stone and rock crabs off. i dropped it down and hooked up on a big sheepshead around 23" or so busted my line. retied with something heavier and hooked a 21" sheepshead on my handline. so i took down one of my rods and tied on the small hook. i hooked another one around 20" but the hook didn't penetrate far enough and he came off. then caught an 18". i ran out of small rock crabs and the ones left were too small. so i didn't catch another one again. planning on heading back on sunday.

Am3,
Them's some nice ones; the state record:
Sheepshead 15.25 26.5 10/17/02
See
http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fish/infish/records/
for tips on certifying your catch if you get any lunkers.
